Get to Know The Early Years

As an early years practitioner, who has worked with children under 5 years old for over 20 years in various settings, and a mother of four, three boys and one girl, my second eldest son has Autism, ADHD and Global delay. I have been through the system of getting him help, fighting the local authority for specialist provision and now he is in his adulthood negotiating with adult social care!

After having a long break in my career I decided to get back into working with children, my lifelong passion and have decided to share my wealth of knowledge on this website with an aim to help parents and other practitioners to gain information about their children and provide ways in which to support and nurture them as they grow and change.

The early years can be a very tricky time in a child's life, from the baby stage, knowing when they will finally crawl or walk to the pre-school stage where they are learning to write their name and be more independent.

Every child is unique, they learn things at their pace and sometimes they may need some additional help from outside agencies to give their development a helping hand. Some children are born with additional needs that at times can feel very overwhelming for them and for us parents to cope with and its ok to ask for help when you need it the most.

The website includes topics such as special needs, challenging behaviour, development and education.

I hope that you find all the information useful and if you have any questions please contact me on Facebook or email me on the contact form.
